Nothing Beast - Void Shield
Bishop
Johana
Freikorps Librarian
Death Marshal
Void Wretch

John picked:: ALITS (not revealed) and Make Them Suffer.
Itook: ALITS and Entourage - both revealed.

My first game against Von Schill. I knew he will be tough nut to crack and as I found out soon he is actually tougher than that :D

Table setup:

Crews deployment (Von Schill was deploying first):

Turn 1
I won initiative but I decided to allow Von Schill to go first. I deployed my Tara to be visible for Trapper since the start of the game - it was a trap designed to kill him turn 1.
Trapper focused and shot Tara who ignored the damage on the defensive trigger. Unfortunately I had to burn a soulstone to make sure I'll get a Mask in the flip (had no Mask on my hand which was terrible by the way - highest card was 9, two 7s and rest below). As it happened I wasted my soulstone because I flipped 3 Mask for defensive flip... Who could predict this?... :D

Tara moved as my first model with usual 0 action and the rest of our crew moved towards centre or along the flanks.
Death Marshal put Bishop in the box and at the end of the turn Tara unburied her (my Bishop is a girl :D), gave her Fast and sent straight against Trapper.

Bishop swung 4 times but due to the average attack flips only which couldn't be cheated up with my shitty hand plus high defensive cheats from John's hand, Bishop couldn't kill the guyand left him on 3 damage only.

Upkeep phase - No VP scored on either side;Score after turn 1: Tara 0 - Von Schill 0

Turn 2
Tara won initiative so Bishop went first and finished up Trapper however again it took him 3 strikes to put his enemy into the ground.
In return Specialist fired as Bishop twice - my Black Joker on defensive flip and second lower defensive flip (although cheated up for negative damage modifier) left Bishop on last 2 wounds remaining with+2 Burning.
Tara immediately activated next and buried Bishop who was later healed for 3 wounds and removed Burning from Void Wretch.
Tara also made Nothing Beast Fast, which happily utilize it to charge lone Freikorpsman who was trying to outflank my crew and dropping one scheme marker on the way.
I hid with rest of my crew behind LOS blockers when Von Schill and Co dropped more scheme markers and advanced towards the centre of the table.

Upkeep phase - Tara: +1VP for Strategy;Von Schill: +1VP for Strategy; Score after turn 2: Tara 1 - Von Schill 1

Turn 3
Tara won initiative again.
She activated first, moved and unburied Bishop, gave him Fast and sent against Librarian. Bishop happily killed Librarian and damaged slightly nearby Lazarus. Lazarus swung his bayonet without much effect (actually he was ones hit back thanks to Bishop's defensive trigger)
Then I made mistake as I should move Malifaux Child and try to bury Bishop back which I didn't do. Von Schill took opportunity, he moved and charged Bishop killing him.
I moved Johana and Nothing Beast closer so they engaged Von Schill, Lazarus and Specialist. In the same time Void Wretch and Death Marshal were dropping scheme markers for ALITS. Tara with her reactivation moved around closer towards enemy deployment zone to prepare herself for Entourage.
I did one more mistake - I moved Johana to far leaving one of my table quarters uncontested...

Upkeep phase - Von Schill: +1VP for Strategy; Score after turn 3: Tara 1 - Von Schill2

Turn 4
Again my hand was dreadful even after burning soulstone for extra cards...
Tara won initiative and flurried at Lazarus but I didn't even had a chance to cheat for severe damage...
Lazarus moved and attacked her back. Tara walked further close to enemy deployment zone.
Von Schill moved and charged Johana leaving her on last wound.
My Librarian moved and healed Johana bringing her back to 3 wounds left. I dropped another marker (I had 3 at this point at the centre line same as Von Schill). The I attacked Lazarus with Nothing Beast hurting him a bit and unfortunately for me I made another mistake - I declared trigger and buried him. I shouldn't do that as I gave Johana Fast thanks to Malifaux Child at the end of the turn and I was ready to win initiative next turn and flurry with optional fourth attack against Lazarus.

Upkeep phase - Tara: +1VP for Strategy;Score after turn 4: Tara 2 - Von Schill 1

Turn 5
My control hand was again below critique even after burning last soulstone.
I won inititative and Johana used flurry plus extra attack for being fast against Von Schill couldn't get too much through high defence or high card cheating flips.
In return Von Schill killed her (Lazarus unburied himself)., shot Librarian, used reposition trigger and dropped scheme marker blocking my Void Wretch from my scheme marker nearby.
I could run away with Librarian but decided to stand my ground and use furious casting against him with minor success. In return Lazarus used his auto-fire and killed Librarian and nearby Malifaux Child.
Tara tried to give fast to Nothing Beast but failed (my control hand was lower than 7s...).
Nothing Beast tried to disengage from Specialist to move and drop scheme marker but failed as well.

I flipped for end of encounter which showed less than 10 and I decided not to re-flip this.

Upkeep phase - Tara: +1VP for Strategy, +3VP for Entourage,+1VP for ALITS ;Von Schill: +3VP for ALITS

Final Score: Tara 7 - Von Schill 4

Comments after the game:

- Tara with Bishop is a monster. This combo is so far my favourite one.
- Having Johana and Librarian so condition removal/construct killer and healing support is a gold.
- Single Void Wretch with Death Marshal is good option for scheme running especially when Death Marshal can pine-box potential enemy scheme runners hunter, however I wouldn't mind to have another Void Wretch in the list.
- Nothing Beast is a beast... :D

Till next time!
