Easy commuting on Dubai Tram

Traveling within the bustling metropolis becomes easy and convenient with the soon-to-be-opened tram system. Complementing the Metro train and bus, the tram takes tourists and residents to areas previously accessible only via taxi or private cars (or extensive walking!).

Scheduled to start operations on November 11 this year, the tram line traverses Al Sufouh Road passing through the cosmopolitan mini-city of Dubai Marina, the iconic Burj Al Arab in Jumeira, and the fun-filled Mall of the Emirates in Al Barsha. Definitely not a bad route at all.

The first phase of the tram network will have 11 stations with five carriages in each tram. It will intersect the Metro at the Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers station, and will also link to the Palm Jumeirah Monorail. It will operate every six minutes from 5:30 AM to midnight daily.

The Dubai Tram is the first tram system outside Europe that uses state-of-the-art electric ground power eliminating those unsightly overhead cables along the train route. It is also the first in the world to have platform screen doors enhancing its safety features. Not only will the tram be a convenient ride, it is a very safe one as well.

Set to adopt the same fare structure as the Metro, the tram will definitely make life easier for tourists as well as daily commuters in Dubai.
