Madonna Reborn

Aphrodite
&
Cupid
have shape-shifted
into
Madonna
w/
Christ Child.

Cupid
no longer
shoots his
frivolous arrow;
the
Christ Child
calls us to repentance.

Aphrodite
covers
her
nakedness,
forsaking the joys
of carnality

and now
fully-clad
in flowing robes
(all we see of her
beauty now is
her face, neck
and hands)

she bids us to
forsake,
as she has done,
our former
harlotry & whoremongering
and give ourselves
over to
the pleasures
of
celibate chastity�

after 2,000 years
of this�
she can�t take it anymore
and
throwing off
most of her clothes
(because one thing she has
found out in 2,000
years is men
prefer some clothes
because then they
have the benefit
of the striptease)

she becomes
a dance music
sensation�
former
celibate
today�s
celebrity�
who, not only becomes
one of the dominant forces
in popular music for several
decades, but her influence
extends out into the world
as well�

and it is safe to say
she has as many or more
fans
as she ever did

the Artist formerly

Aphrodite
or
the Artist formerly
